With Medicaid expansion in Virginia, about 4,000 in Henry County, Martinsville now qualify

Ann Walker is trying to get the word out that Virginia’s Medicaid rules for adults have changed with Medicaid expansion, and that on Jan. 1 more Virginia residents ages 19-64 became eligible for quality low or no-cost health insurance.

An estimated 400,000 additional Virginians, including 4,000 in Henry County and Martinsville, now are eligible for Medicaid, Walker said. She’s the Medicaid outreach advocate for the Martinsville-Henry County Coalition for Health and Wellness.
