Ridgeway Family Health is committed to providing comprehensive, primary health care services to medically underserved residents of Henry County and the neighboring areas of Pittsylvania County as well as Rockingham County, NC, regardless of the ability to pay.


This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 24 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.

Michael Waters, M.D.

Michael Waters, M.D.

Dr. Waters joined the Coalition in December 2018. He offers primary care to adults and children at our Ridgeway Family Health.

Dr. Waters attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA and completed his residency at Catholic Medical Centers of Brooklyn & Queens (NY). He completed his post graduate studies in Public Health at Columbia University in New York, New York.

 

Kwamba Nkembe, M.D

Kwamba Nkembe, M.D

Dr. Nkembe moved to our area from Brooklyn, NY, where he was serving a family medicine residency at State University of Stony Brook. He holds a master’s in Public Health from Hunter College at City University of New York and an M.D. from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in the British West Indies. He has conducted extensive research on affordable, cost-effective healthcare systems in Africa and on the prevention of infectious diseases. He has served as Prevention Program Director for the African Services Committee in New York, NY, to train community leaders on HIV/AIDS, STD’s and other infectious diseases. Dr. Nkembe speaks English and Spanish. Él habla ingles y español. Dr. Nkembe serves acute care patients at both Bassett Family Practice and Ridgeway Family.

Amanda Keith, FNP

Amanda Keith, FNP

Amanda Keith is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Chamberlain University in Downers Grove, Illinois, where she received her Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Keith provides patient-centered care to adults and children. She is welcoming new patients at Ridgeway Family Health.

Tracie B. Hampton, FNP-BC/C, PMHNP-BC, BSN, RN

Tracie B. Hampton, FNP-BC/C, PMHNP-BC, BSN, RN

Tracie Hampton joined the Coalition in October 2018. She works with the primary care providers at both health centers to better serve the needs of patients who have emotional, mental or physical concerns.

Tracie obtained a Post Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health from Radford University (Cum Laude). She graduated Sigma Cum Laude from Walden University with a Master in Science of FNP. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2010 from Radford University (Cum Laude). Prior to that, she earned an Associate’s in Science of Nursing in 2008 and an Associate’s in Science in 2006, both from Patrick Henry Community College.

 

 

Karen Brodie, LCSW

Karen Brodie, LCSW

Karen Brodie joined the Coalition in November 2017. She relocated from the coast of South Carolina. Karen is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a dual Master’s degree in Social Work and Drug and Addiction Studies. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Karen has worked extensively with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health both in inpatient and outpatient facilities. She is looking forward to a new chapter in her career working in the Integrated Behavioral Health model. She sees patients at both offices – Bassett Family Practice and Ridgeway Family Health.

Alisa Branch, LPC

Alisa Branch, LPC

Alisa Branch is Licensed Professional Counselor. She graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro with a Master of Science Degree in Community Agency Counseling and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Branch will collaborate with other providers and work with children, adolescents and adults in treating mental and behavioral concerns. She will divide her time between both offices – Bassett Family Practice and Ridgeway Family Health.
