Bassett Family Practice (BFP) is a federally granted Community Health Center located in the heart of Bassett, Virginia.  Bassett Family Practice is committed to providing comprehensive, primary health care services to medically underserved residents of Henry County and the neighboring areas of Patrick and Franklin Counties, regardless of the ability to pay.


This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 24 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.

Rhonda Clark, FNP, DNP – Clinical Director

Rhonda Clark, FNP, DNP – Clinical Director

Rhonda Clark is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Nursing Practice, all from Old Dominion University. She is certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and provides compassionate care to the patients in the Martinsville-Henry County area.

gabriel Edmondson, D.O., M.A.

Dr. Edmondson joined Bassett Family Practice in 2017 upon completion of the residency program at Shenandoah Valley Practice in Front Royal, VA. He is board certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathy. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Mercer University in Macon, GA and a Master’s of Arts in Bioethics from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. and then went on to complete medical school at Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA.

In his spare time, gabriel enjoys exploring the natural world in various ways, from hiking and canoeing to experience the outdoors to blacksmithing and woodworking to shape and learn about raw materials. “I take pleasure in expanding my mind by reading a wide selection of works, from fantasy to philosophy to medical journals. A well-rounded mental and physical education is essential to functioning as an effective Family Physician; it is my intent to live a relatively simple life while learning about as many aspects of the universe as possible, and to use that knowledge and experience to help improve the lives of my patients and myself”.

Julia Hodnett, FNP

Julia Hodnett, FNP

Julia is a former Registered Nurse practicing as a  Nurse Practitioner. She has an undergraduate degree from Eastern Mennonite University and a graduate degree from Duke University School of Nursing. Her internships and training have primarily been in sliding fee clinics. She is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She brings with her extensive experience with her strong nursing background and a passion to serve.

Tracie B. Hampton, FNP-BC/C, PMHNP-BC, BSN, RN

Tracie B. Hampton, FNP-BC/C, PMHNP-BC, BSN, RN

Tracie Hampton joined the MHC Coalition for Health and Wellness in October 2018. She works with the primary care providers at both health centers to better serve the needs of patients who have emotional, mental or physical concerns.

Tracie obtained a Post Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health from Radford University (Cum Laude). She graduated Sigma Cum Laude from Walden University with a Master in Science of FNP. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2010 from Radford University (Cum Laude). Prior to that, she earned an Associate’s in Science of Nursing in 2008 and an Associate’s in Science in 2006, both from Patrick Henry Community College.

 

 

Karen Brodie, LCSW

Karen Brodie, LCSW

Karen Brodie joined Ridgeway Family Health in November 2017. She relocated from the coast of South Carolina. Karen is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a dual Master’s degree in Social Work and Drug and Addiction Studies. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Karen has worked extensively with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health both in inpatient and outpatient facilities. She is looking forward to a new chapter in her career working in the Integrated Behavioral Health model.
