Drug Takeback Day, held on April 28, 2018, was a huge success, according to Ann Gibson, Coordinator of Partnership for Success Initiative at Piedmont Community Services. The community responded to the efforts of the Drug-Free MHC coalition and dropped off 285 pounds of unwanted medications to be properly disposed of by the Drug Enforcement Administration. Over 100 cars drove through the Martinsville Fire Department to drop off their unused and expired medications.
If you missed dropping off your unused and/or expired medications on Drug Takeback Day, there are drop off boxes located at the Martinsville City Police Department, Henry County Sherriff’s Office and Starling Pharmacy, in which your medications can be disposed of properly.
The Martinsville-Henry County Coalition is part of the Drug-Free MHC coalition, which is a collaborative partnership working to build a safe and drug-free community through education, prevention and networking resources. For more information, visit here.
