Community partnerships allow eligible patients to receive supplies

blood pressure monitorThrough community partnerships and our health education programs, the Coalition is able to provide eligible patients with supplies, such as blood pressure monitors, courtesy of the Stanley Family Foundation and United Way of Henry County & Martinsville.

(Top photo) Cindy Cunningham, RN/Health Educator at the Coalition’s health centers, demonstrates for a patient on how to properly use a blood pressure monitor, so that it can effectively be used to measure blood pressure at home.

Monitoring blood pressure at home is not a treatment for high blood pressure, but one part of a plan that includes eating a healthy diet, maintaining a healthy weight, getting enough exercise, taking medications properly if prescribed and not smoking.
